ListenIn Pictures has partnered with Achievement First on a wide range of storytelling projects including a 3 part series documenting of the final weeks of their senior class as they graduated and moved to college. In 2011, for the second year in a row, every single member of their senior class was admitted to a four year university.

Achievement First is a network of public charter schools from elementary school to high school, who believe that every child, no matter what their background, has the potential to succeed. Their intensive support for teachers and administrators enables them to focus on what matters most- great teaching.

First we captured members of their senior class reflecting on the impact the school has had on them.

Next we documented their Signing Day event where all the members of the senior class announced to their families where they will be attending college.

Finally we filmed their graduation- including moving reflections from their families on the significance of the day.

Here is what they have to say about working with us:

“Their ability to tell a story is quite exceptional. As a seasoned executive with over 15 years of marketing experience, I have learned that one is only as good as their external vendors. Having worked with myriad public relations, digital strategy, advertising and branding firms, I trust my instinct in knowing when an outside provider has intrinsic talent or not. They have it. Not only is the production value extremely high with their projects, but their first draft is always close to my original vision without the need for much further editing (which I value from a cost perspective).

They recently produced a video of our high school graduating seniors that, upon showing it at our annual staff retreat, left 110 people in tears and many asking for a copy to send to influential funders, legislators and partners. Their work is powerful, artistic and absorbing.

They are also genuinely happy and joyful people. At Achievement First we have a saying that our work not only consists of “what” you do, but “how” you do it. ListenIn Pictures has the what, but set themselves apart from other external vendors (especially the many video production freelancers I’ve hired) by how they come across in attitude, professionalism and joy factor. They work hard and fully engage themselves in this type of storytelling, unlike other freelancers who bounce between corporate, wedding and non-profit gigs without much connection to or passion for the mission – which ultimately comes across on film. They absolutely want to support and work within the social sector because they are driven by change agents and bold ideas – which also ultimately comes across on film.”
